Our mission is to assist those recovering from addiction access the resources they need to succeed.

Our approach is to connect people with local resources for treatment, sober living, recovery support programs, food, and beyond.

We utilize our personal experiences in recovery to support those starting their recovery and those who want to take their recovery life to the next level.

Overall impression of this opportunity

The Peer Recovery Specialist is responsible for answering inbound calls for the Central Florida Recovery Resource Hotline. They will receive hotline calls and connect with people seeking support by aiding them in navigating local resources and sharing their personal recovery experiences. Additionally, they will update information for the online Central Florida Recovery Resource guide.

How you will help our community

  • Share their personal experiences in recovery with individuals calling the Central Florida Recovery Resource Hotline for support
  • Log related assessment and outcome data for each hotline call
  • Ensure the online Central Florida Recovery Resource guide is updated regularly to reflect current community support and accurate contact information
  • Connect with walk-ins seeking support at the Recovery Community Center
  • Support the Outreach team as needed
  • Other duties as needed

The experience we hope you have

  • Hold a current certification as Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS), or comparable national certification for Recovery Peer Support Services.
  • Substantial experience working with individuals with Substance Use Disorder and addiction recovery
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency using MS Office software, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Passion for supporting those struggling with addiction and seeking recovery
  • Availability to work some nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Previous hotline experience (Preferred)
